Today has been a very busy day. I first cleaned the house, which I usually do on Saturday mornings. However, Matthew and I then went to Home Depot to get his paint for his new room. You see unexpectedly Megan (my 17 year old daughter) has decided to move in with her Dad. She stated it is because she wanted to change schools as her friends were at the school in her Dad's district. That is nether here or there - the thing is she is a teenager and they do these kinds of things. The move was kind of hard on Matthew and I though, after all Michael (my eldest) moved out 1 year ago last January. Anyway, Megan's old room is bigger than Matthew's current room, so we are spring cleaning, and I do mean spring cleaning. We have lived in this house 6 years this May and you can accumulate a lot of stuff in 6 years. The hard part was getting Megan to clean through all her stuff (junk) that took 1 month (she did procrastinate). Anyway, finally did it last Thursday and so we moved all her furniture into the middle of the room so I could prepare the room for Matthew. Megan will use Matthew's old room when she comes over on the weekends. So here is how her old room looks when we started. It was nasty - Megan is not the cleanest child in the world, and as you can tell by the photo - lots of patch's and repair work was needed. So Matthew and I got our paint for his wall and have done 1/2 of the room. It is a light blue color and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Change is hard, especially when you don't expect it - Matthew and I are trying to make the best of this change - we did expect to have Megan with us for two more years. The room change hopefully will make this transition a little bit easier.
