In July 1994 I was going to college and had to write many papers or articles in which I did research and study. One such paper was titled "Air Pollution: A Silent Killer" - today I revisited this paper and realized that not much has changed since I wrote this paper. Today on 20/20 I watched as they talked about how many politicians including our wonderful President have decided that Ethanol is the awnser to our "fuel" crisis - Ha ha ha (lol). I remembered the paper I wrote and decided to get it out and revisit the many ideas I had years ago. In this article I stated that "The burning of fossil fuels for energy produces chemicals such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, sulfur, nitrogen and methane. When combined with products manufactured such as automobiles and chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) they release pollutants into the air that is breaking down the earth's atmosphere." Hmmm - hello I wrote this when????? Did anyone see the movie where the earth froze due to global warming - when did that come out???? Anyway, I had researched during that time many options to burning fossil fuels and had run across many articles at the time regarding electric cars (yes, you heard me electric cars) - this was 1994 - I stated this "There has been great advancements made in the car industry with the manufacturing of the electric car. " I also gave references to GM's wonderful new car called the "Impact" which was announced in 1990 - due to be ready for the public in 1995 - the car ran off of a battery and could go as fast as 75 miles per hour and could go from about 125 miles without recharging. So what happened, where did those ideas go???
Well please see the article in the link below regarding the Impact, it is as follows:

Now we have Hybrids, wonderful hybrids they still have the battery problem though. My thing is this instead of investing time, money and effort on trying to produce a new form of fossil fuel - why don't they invest more time, effort and money into electric cars, electric companies that use solar power/wind power, etc... these are still the same kinds of things I visited back in 1994 - not much has changed except the air has more pollutants in it and we are in a war involving a fight over the precious fossil fuel (oil) duh??? If I can see the problem isn't a switch to another fossil fuel - why can't they????? Oh so sorry they know it's the money that is lining their pockets - hmmmm did I say that - am I stating that maybe the politicians are run by the oil companies and manufactures - Naaaaah it's your imagination!!!!!
