Spring

The early signs of spring started to arrive here this week. Lots of people outside working on their yards and lawns. People out walking and children out riding their bikes. Sunday was a wonderful day, nice and bright and sunny - perfect day for gardening - not too hot or cold. I was like everyone else (it seems) outside working on my yard. My daffodils are blooming and are just gorgeous. My tulips are starting to emerge from their deep sleep underneath the soil. It felt really good to be outside working in the yard after such a long winter (it seemed really long this year). The soil in my yard was perfect for planting the bulbs as it was still moist from the other days rain. Cameron my nephew was over and he even came outside and helped me plant the bulbs. He stated he had never seen a bulb planter before and was fascinated by how it pulled out the dirt when you pulled it out of the soil. So he was out there helping me plant the new bulbs as he enjoyed the new toy and how it worked. We planted gladiolas in the garden and as I had a piece of yard that was big enough for a small strawberry patch we planted some of those plants. However, I ended up getting frustrated as I have realized that the moles have gotten rid of the grass and the dandelions are sprouting up everywhere. Looks like a visit to Home Deposit is on the horizon. Anyway, it was a wonderful day for being out in the garden - and of course I got sun burnt. We ate dinner, lasagna (Garfield's favorite) and then we took, Miss Megan over to her dad's and then took Cameron home. We ended up staying over and watching a movie before Matthew and I headed back home. All in all it was a good relaxing Sunday.
